Questions and Answers are cited below as
"Q" and "A"
1. Q: To whom and what are you referring in the title of this Plain Talk?
A: To the President of the United States, George W. Bush and his declared personal attorney, Harriet Miers.
2. Q: Are there places from which Plain Talk can answer the questions in the title?
A: Examples include (1) The New York Times, Op-Ed, Wednesday, October 12, 2005, by Maureen Dowd: "To Sir With Love": (2) The New York Times, Thursday, October 13, 2005 Op-Ed, by David Brooks: "In Her Own Words," and (3) The New York Times, Letters to the Editor, October 14, 2005:
"To the Editor: President Bush's emphasis on Harriet E. Miers's evangelical faith and religiosity would be germane only if she had been appointed chaplain of the Supreme Court."
[Copies of above examples annexed.]
3. Q: Is Maureen Dowd and the New York Times entitled to any credit for this disclosure?
A: A tremendous debt is owed by the entire American people for what is exposed, and what is indelibly reflected as the real George W. Bush, and the real personal attorney to whom he proposes to offer a seat on the United States Supreme Court.
4. Q: Can you give us an example from the article?
A: Yes. See, e.g., from the Dowd article, disclosure by Miers in her letter to Bush:
"April 2004 'There is no other president who would have the courage to allow torture, dude! (It's only too bad that Abu Ghraib rules out Alberto's chances of getting on the Supreme Court.) You are the best torturer ever!! xo. H' ."
5. Q: Any other examples?
A: Yes, Bush's refusal in the road immediately outside his ranch, to talk to Cindy Sheehan, who had lost her son and was protesting the Iraq war.
"August 2005 'I've half a mind to come down there' [to Texas] 'myself and chase that witch, Cindy Sheehan, off your property with an injunction!! Yours, with you in Christ, Harriet.'"
6. Q: Perhaps a crowning other example?
A: Yes. In Dowd's exposures of Miers' correspondence with Bush:
"October 2005 'How can I thank you, Sir? I never, ever expected the Supreme Court. Phat! But now I will be able to serve your interests ñand those of your familyñforever and ever. If there's another recount you need help with, count on me. They say I don't have experience, but I've had the experience of polishing the boots of the wisest ruler since Solomon. I may not know stare decisis, but I know when to be starry-eyed. I await your instructions, Master."
