Major Questions of the Human Future?

Questions and Answers are cited below as "Q" and "A"

1. Q: Why do I ask this question?

A: Surely not because of such relatively subordinate issues as "Condi vs. Hillary: The Next Great Presidential Race," by Dick Morris and Eileen McCann.

2. Q: What does Plain Talk see as a foreseeable major problem for which mankind must prepare as much as possible now before it is too late for much of the recommended repair?

A: There is a predictable rise in the level of the oceans and their related warming and the related termination of the ice, glacial and snow packs at both ends of the planet.

3. Q: What about dealing with the causes of the catastrophic rises in the levels of the oceans incident to the trapping of the heating effects of the sun?

A: These trapping elements are gases called "Greenhouse gases" of which the United States is the world's leading producer.

"When solar radiation bounces off the earth's surface in the form of heat, the greenhouse gases trap the heat instead of allowing it to escape into space. In essence, these gases serve as a sort of blanket keeping the earth warm." ( A.J. Nomai, "Global warming: The future versus the dollar.") 4. Q: Would you include as major, the outcome of the war in Iraq?

A: Yes, because of two factors:

(1) the relatively uncontrollable outcome of the hates between races, sects, beliefs and other inevitably destructive aspects for the human future.

(2) The very thoughtfully and surely founded recommendation of Senator John Murtha for pullout from Iraq as part of the foundation for a better world.

5. Q: Is there a predictable "dollar" and other currency future of the foregoing?

A: Yes. A.J. Nomai's above-cited article summarizes: "Critics of environmental responsibility are preaching economic Armageddon."

6. Q: What is the conclusion from the foregoing?

A: "Eventually, U.S. must face global warming solutions."

The practical fact is that those solutions will involve international decisions which cannot be avoided.
